47 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS <br />OF ACADEMY AVENUE AND A PORTION <br />EAST SIDE OF ACADEMY AVENUE. <br /> <br />FOR CLOSING OF A PORTION <br />OF A 16' ALLEY ON THE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has made <br />application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter described portions of Academy Avenue and a <br />certain 16' alley on the east side of Academy Avenue, <br />and it appearing that notice of application and request <br />for the appointment of viewers was duly advertised as <br />required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. <br />Ottavio, James Moss, Clinton J. Fortune, Matthew L. <br />Peanort and L.A. Clark be appointed viewers and that <br />Emmerson Smith and Raymond Tweed be appointed alternate <br />viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails <br />to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of such streets and to report to this <br />Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if <br />any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and <br />closing the following: <br /> <br /> Ail that portion of Academy Avenue <br />between Bertrand Street on the north and <br />Street on the South. <br /> <br />Arden <br /> <br /> That portion of the alley 16' in width <br />situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />which extends east and west between Lots 23 <br />and 24 on the south and Lots 9 and 10 on the <br />north as shown on the plat of the Churchland <br />Land Company, recorded in the Clerk's Office <br />of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake <br />in Map Book 18, page 85, which lies between <br />the west side of Academy Street to a distance <br />of 124' <br /> <br /> The portion of the alley to be closed is <br />shown on Tax Map 821 and lies between parcel <br />44 on the South and parcels 42 and 43 on the <br />North. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held Nay 13, 1986. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
