A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 15 TO THE CRAWFORD <br />REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE CRAWFORD URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted August t, <br />1967, approved a Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban <br />Renewal Project, Portsmouth, Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for <br />consideration and approval, a copy of an amended <br />Redevelopment Plan for the project area, which plan <br />consisns of 15 pages and 4 exhibits; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 15 proposes to designate a <br />Conservation District which will permit the implementation <br />of a rehabilitation loan program to assist property owners <br />in carrying out rehabilitation work within the Olde Towne <br />South area and to designate certain properties within the <br />project area "To Be Acquired"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions <br />that are imposed by the provisions of the Housing and <br />Community Developmen~ Act of 1974, as amended, including <br />those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, <br />color, creed, sex or national origin; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council <br />interest of the City and its inhabitants that <br />Amendment be approved. <br /> <br />it is mn the <br />the said <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Amendment No. 15 to the Redevelopment Plan <br />for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, having been duly <br />reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: <br /> <br /> (a) That the objectives of the Crawford Urban <br />Renewal Project, Portsmouth~ Virginia~ can be better <br />achieved by the adoption of said Amendment. <br /> <br /> (b) That Amendment No. 15 to the Crawford <br />Redevelopment Plan meets the requirements as a <br />Redevelopment Project set forth under Title 36 of the Code <br />of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br /> 2. That Amendment No. 15 to the Crawford <br />Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Pro3ect, <br />having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby <br />approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a <br />copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
