124 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF A PORTION OF <br />HARTFORD STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREks, Vance Po Pittman and Betty L. Pittman have made <br />application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter- <br />described portion of Hartford Street; and it appearing 'that <br />notice of application and request for appointment of viewers <br />has been duly advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, James Moss, <br />Clinton J. Fortune, Matthew L. Peanort and L.A. Clark be <br />appointed viewers and that James L. Linehan. and Emmerson'Smith <br />be appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the <br />preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view <br />the hereinafter-described portion of such street and to <br />report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion <br />any, and if any what, inconvenience would result in vacating <br />and closing the following: <br /> <br />Hartford Street <br /> <br /> Ail that certain portion of Hartford <br />Street, situate in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, shown on a Dlat entitled: "Plat <br />Showing~ Survey of a Portion of Property Owned <br />by Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, Portsmouth, <br />Virginia", dated November 14, 1978, made by E. <br />Stuart Ball and Associates, Ltd., and duly <br />recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br />Court of the City of Portsmouth in Deed Book <br />752, page 48, and being bounded and described <br />as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the <br />~grtheast corner of Lot Six Hundred <br />Fifty-three (653) on the Plat of Port Norfolk <br />and from thence running North 3' West along <br />the Western side of Broad Street 44.82 feet to <br />the former right-of-way of the Seaboard Coast <br />Line Railroad; thence South 54° 22' West 77.03 <br />feet to the Northern line of said Lot Six <br />Hundred Fifty-three (653); thence North 89° <br />57' East along the Northern line of said Lot <br />Six Hundred?i~ty-three (653) to the point of <br />beginning. <br /> <br /> The portion of the street to be closed is <br />shown on Tax Map 152, and lies between Parcel <br />39 on the South and Parcel 40 on the <br />Northwest. <br /> <br /> <br />
