117 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT ,TO THOMAS LENNIE HOLLAND <br />FOR THE CONVERSION OF AN EXISTING SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING TO <br />A DUPLEX RESIDENCE AT 638 ~OUNT VERNON AVENUE (UP-86-12) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Thomas Lennie Holland has made application <br />pursuant to ~40-102 (B) for a use permit to convert an <br />existing single-family residence to a duplex residence at <br />638 Mount Vernon Avenue (Tax Map 150, Parcel 21) which is <br />located in the Port Norfolk Historic District; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the~applicant and the <br />done all things required to be done <br />application; and <br /> <br />Planning Director have <br />in connection with said <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reCommended the <br />granting of a use permit with conditions for the conversion <br />of the existing single-family dwelling to a duplex <br />residential structure. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1o That the use for which the use permit IS sought: <br /> <br /> (a) Will not adversely <br />safety of persons residing in the <br />proposed use; <br /> <br />affect the health and <br />neighborhood of the <br /> <br /> (b) Will not be detrimental to the public use or <br />injurious to the property or improvements in the <br />neighborhood; and <br /> <br /> (c) Will be in accord with the purposes of the <br />Zoning Chapter of Tthe City Code. ~ <br /> <br /> 2. Thomas Lennie Holland is hereby granted a use <br />permit pursuant to §40-102 (B) to convert an existing <br />single-family residence to a duplex residential structure at <br />638 Mount Vernon Avenue, such conversion to be in compliance <br />with the regulations applicable to the Port Norfolk Historic <br />Residential Subdistrict as provided for in the Zoning <br />Chapter of the Code of The City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />1973, as amended, such aDproval being granted subject to the <br />following terms and conditions: <br /> <br /> (a) The applicant shall comply with all <br />applicable codes, ordina~cesr policies and regulations of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and shall obtain all <br />necessary licenses and permits. <br /> <br /> (b) The parking layout must be approved by the <br />C~mmlssion of Architectural Review in accordance with the <br />applicable provisions of the City Code.. <br /> <br /> <br />
