A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF A <br />PORTION OF CHESTNUT STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Robert L. Turner, Ltd., by attorney L. <br />Cleaves Manning, has made application to vacate, close <br />and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of <br />Chestnut Street, and it appearing that notice of <br />application and request for the appointment of viewers <br />has been duly advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. <br />Ottavio, Albert J. Carr, Howard L. Davis, George N. <br />Powers, Sr., and C.L. Knight be appointed viewers and <br />that William Choate and Charles R. Hudgins be appointed <br />alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding <br />viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view the <br />hereinafter described portion of such street and to <br />report to this Council in writing whether in their <br />opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result <br />in vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br />Chestnut Street <br /> <br /> That certain strip or portion of <br />Chestnut Street as the same is shown upon the <br />plat of Brighton, duly of record, which said <br />strip is bounded as follows: Beginning at the <br />southwest intersection of Chestnut Street and <br />Portsmouth Boulevard (formerly Gosport Road) <br />as the same are presently constituted and from <br />thence running along Portsmouth Boulevard N <br />78° 08' W a distance of 36.17 feet to an iron <br />pin at the intersection of Chestnut Street and <br />Gosport Road as the same are shown in the Plat <br />of Brighton; thence N 2° 50' 50" W along <br />Chestnut Street (as the same is shown in the <br />Plat of Brighton) a distance of 147.43 feet to <br />an iron pin at the northeast corner of Lot 15 <br />in Block 59 as shown on said plat of Brighton; <br />thence S 87° 04' 07" E a distance of 34.65 <br />feet to a point in the westerly line of the <br />right-of-way of Chestnut Steet as the same is <br />presently constituted and thence S 2° 26' 35" <br />w a distance of 153.06 feet to the point of <br />beginning. <br /> <br /> <br />
