AN ORDINANCE CLOSING PORTIONS OF BRIGHTON STREET AND SEVENTH STREET. WHEREAS, Abex Corporation has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described portions of Brighton Street and Seventh Street; and WHEREAS, by a resolution adopted by this Council on November 25, 1986, viewers were appointed pursuant to §15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter-described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what ingonvenience would result from discontinuing the herein-described portions of said streets; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of the herein-described portions of said streets. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described portions of Seventh Street and Brighton Street be closed and vacated as public streets. BRIGHTON STREET AND SEVENTH STREET BEGINNING at a point on the northwest corner of Brighton Street and Seventh Street intersection, said point being the True Point of Beginning; thence north along the western right-of-way of Seventh Street 226.00'; thence east and parallel with Brighton Street 6.00'; thence south and parallel with Seventh Street 230.00'' thence west and parallel with Brighton Street 267.00'; thence north and parallel with Seventh Street 4.00' to a point on the northern right-of-way of Brighton Street; thence west along the northern right-of-way of Brighton Street 261.00' to the True Point of Beginning. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Eity of Portsmouth, Virginia hereby reserves unto itself perpetual easements, right and privileges to install, maintain, operate and replace electric power lines and telephone lines, water mains and laterals within, over, under and across the hereinabove-described portions of said streets.
