AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF HARTFORD STREET. WHEREAS, Betty L. Pittman and Vance P. Pittman have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter portion of Hartford Street; and WHEREAS, by a resolution adopted by this Council on November 25, 1986, viewers were appointed to view the hereinafter-described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing said street; and WHEREAS, said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described portion of Hartford Street be closed and vacated as a public street. HARTFORD STREET All that certain portion of Hartford Street, situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, shown on a plat entitled: "Plat showing Survey of a Portion of Property Owned by Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, Portsmouth, Virginia", dated November 14, 1978, made by E. Stuart Ball and Associates, Ltd., and duly recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth in Deed Book 752, page 48, and being bou~nded and described as follows, to-wit: BEGINNING at the northeast corner of Lot Six Hundred Fifty-three (653) on the plat of Port Norfolk and from thence running north 3' west along the western side of Broad Street 44.82' to the former right-of-way of Seaboard Coast Line Railroad; thence south 54° 22' west 77.03' to the northern line of said Lot Six Hundred Fifty-three (653); thence north 89° 57' east along the northern line of said Lot Six Hundred Fifty-three (653) to the point of beginning. The portion of the street to be closed is shown on Tax Map 152, and lies between Parcel 39 on the south and Parcel 40 on the northwest.
