AN ORDINANCE CLOSING PAUL JONES AVENUE AND AN ADJACENT TEN FOOT ALLEY. WHEREAS, Swimming Point Associates has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Paul JoneS Avenue and an adjacent ten foot alley; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this council adopted July 14, 1987, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing the said street and alley; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinUing of said street and alley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of Paul Jones Avenue and an adjacent ten foot alley be closed and vacated as public streets. Paul Jones Avenue Paul Jones Avenue, a 30' wide right-of-way, starting at the eastern edge of the Washington Street right-of-way and running approximately 350' east to the Elizabeth River as shown on the plat of Craford Place recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in Map Book 1, page 35. Ten Foot Alley That portion of a ten foot wide unnamed alley as shown on the plat of Craford Place recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in Map Book 1, page 35, beginning at the intersection of the southern boundary of Paul Jones Avenue and the western boundary of Lot 7 as shown on said plat and extending in a southerly direction approximately 105' to a point which is the intersection of said alley and the southern boundary of Lot 5 as shown on said plat of Craford Place.
