AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF CHURCHLAND BOULEVARD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Churchland Shopping Center Associates has made <br />application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter <br />described portion of Churchland Boulevard; and . <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council on March <br />10, 1987 viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing the said street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described <br />portion of Churchland Boulevard be closed and vacated as a <br />public street. <br /> <br />Churchland Boulevard <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land <br />situate, lying and being in the City of <br />Portsmouth, State of Virginia, and known as <br />part of nhe forty (40) foot strip along U.S. <br />Route 17, dedicated for street and highway <br />purposes, and shown on the plat of Pride <br />Homes, which said plat is duly recorded in the <br />Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the <br />City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 39, <br />page 68, and being more particularly bounded <br />and described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the northerly <br />side of said forty (40) foot strip at the <br />eastern line of the property, now o2 formerly <br />Atlantic Coastline Railway; thence running S. <br />41° 57' 00" E. along the property now or <br />formerly Churchland Shopping Center Associates <br />a distance of 718.16 feet to a point; thence <br />running along a curve to the left having a <br />radius of 20.00 feet, an arc distance of 31.42 <br />feet to the westerly side of Stamford Road; <br />thence running along the westerly side of <br />Stamford Road S. 48° 03' 00" W. a distance Of <br />60.00 feet; thence running N. 41° 57' 00" W. <br />along the southerly side of said forty (40) <br /> <br /> <br />
