A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH'S EXPANSION <br />OF THE RENTAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM INTO WESTHAVEN, <br />WESTHAVEN PARK, GROVE PARK, AND KINGMAN HEIGHTS; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION POR <br />EXPANSION OF THE PROGRAM. <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has been a participant <br />in the Rental Rehabilitation Grant Program operated under <br />the auspices of the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has been allocated <br />Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) by the Virginia Housing <br />Development Authority to continue the Rental Rehabilitation <br />Program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Rental Rehabilitation Program is <br />currently limited to the neighborhoods of Cradock, <br />Brighton, Prentis Park, Park View and Truxtun, and the City <br />is of the opinion that the expansion of the Program to <br />additional neighborhoods will assist investors in the <br />rehabilitation of rental units for lower income tenants; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a~public hearing has been held on the <br />expansion of the Program. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that it endorses the <br />expansion of the Rental Rehabilitation Program into the <br />neighborhoods of Westhaven, Westhaven Park, Grove Park and <br />Kingman Heights. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and <br />he hereby is, authorized to submit an application for the <br />expansion of the Program and to execute any documents as <br />may be required therefor. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ <br />Virginia, at a meeting held March 24, 1987. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
