A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR A CLOSING OF A <br />PORTION OF CHURCHLAND BOULEVARD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Churchland Shopping Center Associates has <br />made application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter described portion of Churchland Boulevard, <br />and it appearing that notice of application and request <br />for appointment of viewers has been duly advertised as <br />required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. <br />Ottavio, Simon P. Arrington, Robert McCurdy, James B. <br />McGee and Richard Tweed be appointed viewers and that <br />Emerson Smith and Howard L. Davis be appointed <br />alternative viewers in the event that one of the <br />preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to <br />view the hereinafter described portion of such street <br />and to report to this Council in writing whether in <br />their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would <br />result from vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br />Churchland Boulevard <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land <br />situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />State of Virginia, and known as part of the forty <br />(40) foot strip along U. S. Route 17, dedicated <br />for street and highway purposes, and shown on the <br />plat of "Pride Homes?, whigh said plat is duly <br />recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br />Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map <br />Book 39, page 68, and being more particularly <br />bounded and described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the northerly side of <br />said forty (40) foot strip at the eastern line of <br />the property, now or formerly Atlantic Coastline <br />Railway; thence running S. 41° 57' 00" E. along <br />the property now or formerly Churchland Shopping <br />Center Associates a distance of 718.16 feet to a <br />point; thence runnihg along a curve to the left <br />having a radius of 20.00 feet, an arc distance of <br />31.42 feet to the westerly side of Stamford Road; <br />thence running along the westerly side of Stamford <br />Road S. 48° 03' 00" W. a distance of 60.00 feet; <br />thence running N. 41° 57' 00" W. along the <br />southerly side of said forty (40) foot strip a <br />distance of 176.96 feet to a point; thence running <br />along a curve to the'left having a radius of <br /> <br /> <br />
