A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN RENEWAL PROJECT. 16 TO THE CRAWFORD FOR THE CRAWFORD URBAN WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted August 1, 1967, approved a Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan); and WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area, which Plan consists Of 15 pages and 4 exhibits; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 16 proposes to clarify the requirement of observance of all applicable City ordinances, make uther technical corrections, designates additional property as "To Be Acquired", and extends the Olde Towne South Conservation Area's southern boundary to include those properties on the south side o~ South Street; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this Amendment is in the best interest of the City's renewal effort; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by 'the provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgement of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment is approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Amendment No. 16 to the Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal P~oject, having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: (a) That the objectives of the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment ~o the Plan. (b) That Amendment No. area meets the requirements project pursuant to Chapter Virginia, 1950, as amended. 16 to the Plan for the project of a plan for an urban renewal 1 of Title 36 of the Code of
