78 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO THE PARK VIEW <br />CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR TH5 PARK VIEW <br />CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted June 25, 1968, <br />approved a Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Park <br />View Conservation and Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, <br />Virginia (Plan); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for <br />consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the <br />project area, which Plan consists cf 21 pages and 3 exhibits; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, kmendment No. 6 proposes to extend the periods of <br />time during which the Plan will be effective and made <br />applicable to land conveyed within the project area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />has resolved that this Amendment is in the best interest of <br />the City's renewal effort; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are <br />imposed by the provisions of the Housing and Community <br />Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those <br />prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, <br />sex or national origin; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the judgement of <br />interest of the City and its <br />Amendment be approved. <br /> <br />this Council it is in the <br />inhabitants that the said <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That Amendment No. 6 to the Conservation and Redevelopment <br />Plan for the Park View Conservation and Redevelopment Project, <br />having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: <br /> <br /> (a) That the objectives of the Park View ConservatIon <br />Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better <br />achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan. <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> (b) That Amendment No. 6 to the Plan for the project area <br />meets the requirements of a plan for a conservation and <br />redevelopment project pursuant to Chapter t of Title 36 of the <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br />2. That Amendment No. 6 to the Park View Conservation and <br />Redevelopment Plan for the Park View Conservation and <br />Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and <br />considered, is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby <br />directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of <br />this meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
