75 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE CRADOCK CONSERVATION PLAN FOR THE CRADOCK CONSERVATION PROJECT. WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted Septembe~ 26, 1978 approved a Conservation Plan for the Cradock Conservation Project, Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan); and WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the pro3ect area, which Plan consists of 4 pages and 2 exhibits; and WHEREAS, amendment No. 1 proposes to extend the periods of time during which the Plan will be effective; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this Amendment is in the best interest of the City's ~enewal effort; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgement of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its inhabitants that the said L~_mendment is approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That kmendment No. 1 to the Conservation Plan for the Cradock Conservation Project, having been duly ~ew[ewed and considered, it is hereby found: (a) That the objectives of the Cradock Conservation Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan. (b) That Amendment No. 1 to area meets the ~equirements of a project pursuant to Chapter 1 of Virginia, 1950, as amended. the Plan for the pro3ect plan ~or a conservation Title 36 of the Code of 2. That Amendment No. 1 to the Cradock Conservation Plan for the Cradock Conservation Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting.
