71 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR THE CLOSING OF PAUL JONES <br />AVENUE AND TWO UNNAMED TEN FOOT ALLEYS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF <br />CRAFORD PLACE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Swimming Point Associates has made application <br />to vacate, close and discontinue Paul Jones Avenue and two <br />unnamed ten foot alleys on the north side of Craford Place, <br />and it appearing that Notice of Application and request for <br />the appointment of viewers has been duly advertised as <br />required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio~ Albert J. <br />Carr, Howard L. Davis, George N. Powers and C.L. Knight be <br />appointed viewers and that Raymond Tweed and Charles R. <br />Hudgins be appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the <br />preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view <br />the hereinafter described portion of said street and alleys <br />and to report to this Council in writing whether in their <br />opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from <br />vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br /> Paul Jones Avenue, a thirty foot wide <br />right of way, starting at the eastern edge of <br />the Washington Street right of way and running <br />approximately 350 feet east to the Elizabeth <br />River. <br /> <br /> A ten foot wide unnamed alley, starting <br />at the eastern edge of the Washington Street <br />right of way, approximately fifty (50) feet <br />south of Paul Jones Avenue, and running <br />approximately 230 feet east to its <br />intersection with a second ten foot alley <br />running north-south. <br /> <br /> A portion of a second ten foot wide <br />unnamed alley which starts at the ncrth edge <br />of the Craford Place right of way and runs <br />north to Paul Jones Avenue. The portion to be <br />closed starts approximately ninety (90) fee5 <br />north of C~aford and runs approximately one <br />hundred five (105) feet to Paul Jones Avenue. <br /> <br /> <br />
