5~ A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY-OWNED PROPERTY TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF PORTCENTRE PHASE II. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain hereinafter-described real property located in the area designated for development of PortCentre Phase II; and WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopmen~ and Housing Authority has been designated by the City Council as the agency responsible for consolidation of the properties and marketing the same for development in the PortCentre Commerce Park; and WHEREAS, Section 2.09 (c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth provides that real property may be conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia, or a political subdivision thereof, without advertisement and receipt of bids; and WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described real property to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority: Ail those certain pieces or parcels of land, with the improvements thereon, designated according to the records of the City Assessor of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, as map 21 parcels 24, 25, 26, 28, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57,~ 58, 68 through 78, both inclusive, 151, 152, 154, 155, 159, 160 and 174; and map 41, parcels 136 and 149. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to sign such deeds and other documents as may be necessary to complete this transaction.
