A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT TO THE NEW MT. VERNON BAPTIST CHURCH TO OPERATE A CHURCH AND PLACE OF WORSHIP AT 3547 VICTORY BOULEVARD. 39 WHEREAS, Sweetbriar Development Corporation has made application on behalf of the New Mt. Vernon Baptist Church pursuant to ~40-71 (b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter-described; and WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to be done in connection with said application; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended the granting of a use permit with conditions for the operation of a church and place of worship. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That the use for which the use permit hereinafter-described is sought: (a) Will not adversely affect the health and safety of persons ~esiding or working in the neighborhood of the proposes use; (b) Will not be detrimental to the public use or injurious to the property and improvements in the neighborhood; and (c) Will be in accordance with the purposes of the Zoning Chapter of the City Code.~ 2. The New Mt. Vernon Baptist Church is hereby granted a use permit pursuant to §40-71 (b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, to operate a church and place of worship on property designated as 3547 Victory Boulevard which consists of approximately 2.59 acres of land and is described as Tax Map ~532, Parcel ~52 (UP-87-8). 3. This use permit is approved subject to the following conditions: (a) A landscape plan must approved by the Planning staff prior building permits. be submitted to and to the issuance of (b) A standard site plan must be submitted to the Department of Engineering and Technical Services for review and approval.
