iii! 1988 - 26 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 17 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION <br />17-35, PERTAINING TO INSPECTION FEES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That ~17-35 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 17-35. Inspection fees. <br /> <br /> (a) Each applicant for a Certificate of Compliance <br />required by this division shall pay a fee of fifteen dollars <br />($15.00) for the initial rental inspection and twenty-five <br />dollars (S25.00) for each re-inspection for a dwelling or <br />dwelling unit. <br /> <br /> (b) The fee for the initial rental inspection provided <br />for in subsection (a) for a new dwelling or dwelling unit that <br />has never before been occupied shall be included in the amount <br />paid for a building permit required by Chapter 6 of this Code <br />and when an application is made for a Certificate of <br />Compliance recuired by this Division for such new dwelling or <br />dwelling unit the applicant shall pav no additional fee for <br />the initial rental inspection. A new dwelling or dwelling <br />unit shall not include an exist,ing bui!dinq or structure <br />subsequently enlarged, extended, altered or repaired, in whole <br />or in Dart. <br /> <br /> 2.
