AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF THE UNNAMED STREET EAST OF <br />TWIN PINES ROAD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter described portion of the unnamed street east of <br />Twin Pines Road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted July 26, <br />1988, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said portion of the unnamed <br />street east of Twin Pines Road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described <br />portion of the unnamed street east of Twin Pines Road be <br />closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land <br /> situate, lying and being in the City of <br /> Portsmouth, Virginia, known, designated and <br /> described as Beginning at a point on the south <br /> side of the subject Unnamed Street 11.07 feet <br /> easterly from the southeast intersection of <br /> Branch Street and the subject Unnamed Street, <br /> thence from said point of beginnIng N 17° 10' <br /> 06" W 9.86 feet to the northern side of the <br /> subject Unnamed Street, thence N 81° 48' 06" E <br /> 154.94 feet along the northern side of the <br /> subject Unnamed Street to the western boundary <br /> of Parcel "B" Section 5 of Merrifields, <br /> thence S 17° 10' 06" E 9.86 feet along the <br /> said western side of Parcel "B" Section 5, <br /> Merrifields to the point on the southern side <br /> of the subject Unnamed Street, thence S 81° <br /> 48' 06" W 154.94 feet along the southern side <br /> of the subject Unnamed Street to the point of <br /> beginning, as more particularly shown as a <br /> shaded area and designated "To Be Closed" on <br /> that certain plat entitled "Plat Showing a <br /> Portion of an Unnamed Street as shown on the <br /> 'Plat of the John Bidgood Estate' To Be <br /> Closed, Portsmouth, Virginia" dated June 29, <br /> <br /> <br />
