AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF KAYTON AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Clyde E. <br />close and discontinue <br />Kayton Avenue; and <br /> <br />Smith has made application to vacate, <br />the hereinafter described portion of <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted November <br />10, 1987, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said portion of Kayton Avenue; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no ~nconvenlence would result from closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described <br />portion of Kayton Avenue be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br /> That portion of Kayton Avenue shown on <br />the amended plat of South Highlands ~1, duly <br />recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br />Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia in <br />Map Book 18, page 71, situate in the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia and designated as Kaynon <br />Street upon the official records of said City, <br />which lies between the western line of the <br />street designated on said plat as Howard <br />Avenue and now known as Beacon Road and a line <br />drawn parallel to and distant 150 feet west <br />from the western line of Beacon Road. Said <br />street is shown on tax map 475 and adjoins <br />Parcels 6, 7, and 8 and 33 as shown on said <br />map and is designated as Kayton Stree~ on said <br />map. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held January 26, 1988. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
