A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN PROJECT. 2 TO THE TWIN PINES FOR THE TWIN PINES WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted June 9, 1981, approved a Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Twin Pines Project, Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan); and WHEREAS, there has been presented too this body for consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the project area, which Plan consists of 9 pages and 3 exhibits; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 2 proposes to extend the periods of time during which the Plan will be effective and made applicable to land conveyed within the project area; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this Amendment is in the best interest of the City's renewal effort; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and WHEREAS', in the judgment of this Council it is in interest of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved. the NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council. of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Amendment No. 2 to the Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Twin Pines Conservation and Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: (a) That the objectives of the Twin Pines Conservation and Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan. (b) That Amendment No. 2 to the Plan for the project area meets the requirements of a plan for a conservation and redevelopment project pursuant to Chapter of Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended.
