68 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICE OF SOUTHWEST HAMPTON ROADS, INC. FOR DESIGNATION AS A CHARITABLE AND BENEVOLENT ORGANIZATION WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF SECTION 6 (a) (6) OF ARTICLE X OF THE CONSTITUTION OF VIRGINIA. WHEREAS, in accordance with ~30-19.04 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia held a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 11, 1988 to consider the application for exemption from taxes filed on behalf of Child and Family Service of Southwest Hampton Roads, Inc. for property located within the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and used by the applicant exclusively for charitable and benevolent purposes on a non-profit basis as set forth in ~58.1-3650 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia has examined and considered the provisions of ~30-19.04 (B) of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, with respect no the petition of Child and Family Service of Southwest Hampton Roads, Inc.. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia supports the requesn of Child and Family Service of Southwest Hampton Roads, Inc., a non-profit organization, for designation as a charitable and benevolent organIzation within the context of §6 (a) (6) of Article X of the Constitution of Virginia and that its property located within the City of Portsmouth, owned by it and used by it exclusively for charitable and benevolent purposes on a non-profit basis, be determined to be exempt from taxation'in accordance with ~58.1-3650 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she hereby is, directed to ~orward copies of this Resolution to State Senator Johnny S. Joannou and Delegates William S. Moore, Jr. and Kenneth R.
