1 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR THE CLOSURE OF A PORTION <br />OF AN ALLEY BETWEEN CHANNEL AVENUE AND MARINER AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Bennington Properties has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described <br />portion of an alley located between Channel Avenue and Mariner <br />Avenue and it appearing that notice of application and request <br />for appointment of viewers has been duly advertised as <br />required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Clinton <br />Fortune, Matthew L. Peanort, L.A. Clark and Harrison Miller be <br />appointed viewers and that William Choate and Robert Reed be <br />appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding <br />viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view the <br />hereinafter-descri~bed portion of said street and to report to <br />this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if <br />any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and closing <br />the following: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point at the northwest <br /> corner of lot 309, as shown on a certain map <br /> entitled "Map of West Norfolk, According to <br /> Grimes and Hargraves Survey", recorded in the <br /> Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the <br /> City of Chesapeake, Virginia, November 17, <br /> 1910, Plat Book 10, page 43, which said lot <br /> joins a certain 20 foot alley extending from <br /> Channel Avenue (formerly Fifth Avenue), and <br /> from that point of beginning, easterly along <br /> the southern side of said alley, at the <br /> northern lot lines of the lots numbered 309, <br /> 409, 407, 405, 403, 401, and 308, a distance <br /> of 340 feet to the westerly line of Mariner <br /> Avenue (formerly Fourth Avenue), thence in a <br /> northerly direction along the westerly line of <br /> Mariner Avenue (formerly Fourth Avenue), a <br /> distance of 20 feet, to a point at the <br /> southeast corner of Lot 310, thence westerly <br />along the north side of said alley, at the <br />~southern lot line of the lots numbered 310, <br /> 400, 402, 404, 406, 408, and 311, a distance <br /> of 340 feet to the easterly line of Channel <br /> Avenue (formerly Fifth Avenue) thence <br /> extending southerly along the easterly line of <br /> Channel Avenue (formerly Fifth Avenue) a <br /> distance of 20 feet to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> <br />
