A RESOLUTION APPROVING ~ENDMENT NO. CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN RENEWAL PROJECT. 19 TO THE CRAWFORD FOR THE CRAWFORD URBAN WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted August 1, 1967, approved a Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan); and WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area, which Plan consists of 15 pages and 4 exhibits (Amendment No. 19); and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 19 proposes to designate additional properties as "To Be Acquired" and to redesignate several renovated properties as "Not to be Acquired"; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, familial status, handicap, sex or national origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgement of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That regarding Amendment No. 19, it is hereby found: (a) That the objectives of the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said amendment to the Plan. (b) That Amendment No. 19 meets the requirements of a plan for an urban renewal project pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 365 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. 2. That Amendment No. 19, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and adopted and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting.
