62 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING AN ALLEY ON THE <br />EAST SIDE OF ACADEMY AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Joseph L. Cox has made application to vacate, <br />close and discontinue the hereinafter-described alley on the <br />East Side of Academy Avenue, and it appearing that Notice of <br />Application and Request for Appointment of Viewers has been <br />advertised as requested by law. <br /> <br /> N~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Charles <br />Hudgins, Robert Reed, Harrison Miller and Moses Gibson be <br />appointed viewers and that Casey Lavender and Roy Leinart, <br />be appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the <br />preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view <br />the hereinafter-described portion of such alley and to report <br />to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and <br />if any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and <br />closing the following: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land <br />designated as a 16 foot lane and more <br />particularly described as follows: Beginning <br />at a point where the eastern line of Lot 17, <br />Block 29, Churchland Land Company intersects <br />Academy Avenue, thence running east a distance <br />of 90.15 feet, more or less, to Tyre Neck <br />Road, and thence north 16.01 feet, thence <br />running west a distance of 90.15 feet, thence <br />running south a distance of 20.12 feet to <br />the point of Beginning. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held September 12, 1989. <br /> <br />Tes te: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
