AN.ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 24 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTION 24-255(12) <br />THEREOF PERTAINING TO NOISE. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 24-255(12) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 24-255. Loud~ disturbing and unnecessary noise. <br /> <br /> (12) The creation of any noise from a motorcycle as <br />defined in Section 46.2-100 of the Code of Virginia, which is <br />not equipped with a muffler conforming to Section 22-135 of <br />this Code, if such noise may be hazardous to the health and <br />well being of the citizens of this city. <br /> <br /> 2. That the provisions of this ordinance shall take <br />effect on October 1, 1989. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held September 26, 1989. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
