light or lights, and sounds a siren, bell, exhaust whistle, or <br />air horn designed to give automatically intermittent signals, <br />as may be reasonably necessary, and, only when there is in <br />force and effect for such vehicle either (i) standard <br />automobile liability insurance covering injury or death to any <br />one (1) person in the sum of at least one hundred thousand <br />dollars ($100,000.00) in any one (1) accident, and subject to <br />the limit for one (1) person, to a limit of three hundred <br />thousand dollars ($300,000.00) because of bodily in3ury to or <br />death of two (2) or more persons in any one (1) accident, and <br />to a limit of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) because of <br />injury to or destruction of property of others in any <br />accident, or (ii) a certificate of self-insurance issued <br />pursuant to section 46.2-368 of the Code of Virginia. <br /> <br />Section 22-402. Convictions for speeding in certain areas <br />prohibited unless markers installed. <br /> <br /> No person shall be convicted of a~violation of an <br />ordinance enacted pursuant to the provisions of section <br />46.2-1300 of the Code of Virginia, decreasing the speed limit <br />established in sections 46.2-870 through 46.2-878 of the Code <br />of Virginia, when such person has exceeded the speed limit in <br />the area where the speed limit has been decreased unless such <br />area is clearly indicated by a conspicuous marker at the <br />termini of such area. <br /> <br />Section 22-426. Forfeiture of right to drive. <br /> <br /> (d) If a person is tried on a process alleging a third <br />or subsequent offense of violating section 22-421 and <br />convicted thereof, such person shall not be eligible for <br />participation in a program pursuant to section 18.2-271.1 of <br />the Code of Virginia and shall have his license revoked by the <br />State Department of Motor Vehicles as provided in section <br />46.2-391(B) of the Code of Virginia. <br /> <br />Section 22-752. Duties of drivers and passengers when <br />property damaged. <br /> <br /> (h) Any person convicted of violating the provisions of <br />this section may be punished, in addition to the penalties <br />provided for such violation if such accident resulted only in <br />damage to property and such damage exceeded two hundred fifty <br />dollars ($250.00), by revocation of his license or privilege <br />to operate a motor vehicle on the highways of this state for a <br />period not to exceed six (6) months by the court or judge. <br />This subsection shall in no case be construed to limit the <br />authority or duty of the commissioner of the State Department <br />of Motor Vehicles with respect to revocation of licenses for <br />violation of this section, as provided in Article 10 of <br />Chapter 3 of Title 46.2-(§46.2-364, et seq.) of the Code of <br />Virginia. Any license revoked under the provisions hereof <br />shall be surrendered to the Court to be disposed of in <br /> <br /> <br />
