AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTION 38-83, THEREOF, PERTAINING <br />TO METER RATES FOR WATER SUPPLIED. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 38-83 of the Code of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended and <br />follows: <br /> <br />the City of <br />reordained as <br /> <br />Section 38-83. Meter rates for water supplied. <br /> <br /> (a) For all water which passes through meters, <br />consumers within the corporate limits of the City shall pay <br />one dollar and fifty-five cents [$1.55) per one thousand <br />(1,000) gallons or one dollar and fifteen and ninety-six <br />hundredths cents ($1.1596), per one hundred (100) cubic feet <br />of water supplied. <br /> <br /> (b) For all water which passes through meters, the <br /> customers of the City of Chesapeake who are served by <br /> Portsmouth and whose rates-~re not set by contract shall <br /> pay two dollars and seventy-five cents ($2.75) per one <br /> thousand (1,000) gallons or two dollars and five and <br /> seventy-three hundredths cents ($2.0573) per one hundred <br /> (100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> (c) Effective July 1, 1990 through December 31, <br />1990, for all water which passes through the meters of <br />the City of Chesapeake pursuant to contract, the City of <br />Chesapeake shall pay two dollars and thirty-two and <br />one-half cents ($2.325) per one thousand (1,~00) gallons <br />or one dollar and seventy-three and ninety-three one <br />hundredths cents ($1.7393) per one hundred (100) cubic <br />feet of water supplied. Effective January 1, 1991, for <br />all water which passes through the meters of the City of <br />Chesapeake pursuant to contract, the City of Chesapeake <br />shall pay two dollars and seventy-five cents ($2.75) per <br />one thousand (1,000) gallons or two dollars and five and <br />seventy-three hundredths cents ($2.0573) per one hundred <br />(100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> (d) For all water which passes through meters to <br />the City of Suffolk pursuant to contract, the City of Suffolk <br />shall pay one dollar and forty-two and six hundredths cents <br />($1.4206) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or one dollar and <br />six and twenty-seven hundredths cents ($1.0627) per one <br />hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> 2. This ordinance shall take effect July 1, 1990 and <br />shall be applicable to all bills rendered after July 1, 1990. <br /> <br /> <br />
