AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTION 13-135, PERTAINING TO FIRE <br />PROTECTION AND PREVENTION. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section 13-135 of the Code of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, 1988, be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 13-135. Where required. <br /> <br /> Smoke detectors shall be installed in all of the <br />following structures or buildings: <br /> <br />(1) Any building containing one (1) or more dwelling <br /> units. <br /> <br />(2) Any hotel or motel regularly used, offered for or <br /> intended to be used to provide overnight sleeping <br /> accommodations for one (1) or more persons. <br /> <br />(3) Rooming houses regularly used to provide overnight <br /> sleeping accommodations. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 1990. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held on June 26, 1990. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
