mind of another. <br /> <br /> (c) For purposes of this section the word "firearm" <br />shall mean any weapon in which ammunition may be used or <br />discharged by explosion or pneumatic pressure. The word <br />"ammunition," as used herein, shall mean ~ cartridge, pellet, <br />ball, missile or projectile adapted for use~in a firearm. <br /> <br />Section 24-74. Carrying concealed weapon - Generally. <br /> <br /> (a) If any person carries about his person, hidden from <br />common observation: <br /> <br />(1) Any pistol, revolver, or other weapon designed <br /> or intended to propel a missile of any kind; <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />Any dirk, bowie knife, switchblade knife, <br />ballistic k~ife, razor, slingshot, spring stick, <br />metal knucks, blackjack; <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />Any flailing instrument consisting of two (2) <br />or more rigid parts connected in such a manner <br />as to allow them to swing freely, which may be <br />known as a nun chahka, nunchuck, nunchaku, <br />shuriken, or fighting chain; <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />Any disc, of whatever configuration, having <br />at least two (2) points or pointed blades <br />which is designed to be thrown or propelled <br />and which may be known as a throwing star or <br />oriental dart; <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />Any knife, hook, ice pick or other sharp <br />instrument which has a blade or point more <br />than two and three-fourths (2 3/4) inches <br />measured along the outside perimeter from the <br />base to the tip of the blade or point and which <br />is capable of~inflicting upon a person a stab <br />or cut wound; or <br /> <br />(6) Any weapon of like kind as those enumerated in <br /> this subsection; <br /> <br />he shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor for a first <br />violation, and such weapon shall be forfeited to the <br />Commonwealth and may be seized by an officer as forfeited, and <br />such as may be needed for police officers, conservators of the <br />peace, and the state division of consolidated laboratory <br />services shall be devoted to that purpose, and the remainder <br />shall be disposed of as provided in section 18.2-310 of the <br />Code of Virginia. <br /> <br /> <br />
