mind of another. (c) For purposes of this section the word "firearm" shall mean any weapon in which ammunition may be used or discharged by explosion or pneumatic pressure. The word "ammunition," as used herein, shall mean ~ cartridge, pellet, ball, missile or projectile adapted for use~in a firearm. Section 24-74. Carrying concealed weapon - Generally. (a) If any person carries about his person, hidden from common observation: (1) Any pistol, revolver, or other weapon designed or intended to propel a missile of any kind; (2) Any dirk, bowie knife, switchblade knife, ballistic k~ife, razor, slingshot, spring stick, metal knucks, blackjack; (3) Any flailing instrument consisting of two (2) or more rigid parts connected in such a manner as to allow them to swing freely, which may be known as a nun chahka, nunchuck, nunchaku, shuriken, or fighting chain; (4) Any disc, of whatever configuration, having at least two (2) points or pointed blades which is designed to be thrown or propelled and which may be known as a throwing star or oriental dart; (5) Any knife, hook, ice pick or other sharp instrument which has a blade or point more than two and three-fourths (2 3/4) inches measured along the outside perimeter from the base to the tip of the blade or point and which is capable of~inflicting upon a person a stab or cut wound; or (6) Any weapon of like kind as those enumerated in this subsection; he shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor for a first violation, and such weapon shall be forfeited to the Commonwealth and may be seized by an officer as forfeited, and such as may be needed for police officers, conservators of the peace, and the state division of consolidated laboratory services shall be devoted to that purpose, and the remainder shall be disposed of as provided in section 18.2-310 of the Code of Virginia.
