AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THOMAS STREET~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Bryant E. Collins, Jr. has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described Thomas <br />Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted November <br />21, 1989, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described street and to report in writing whether in their <br />opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from <br />discontinuing said Thomas Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council Of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described Thomas <br />Street be closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br /> Ail that certain street or alley located in <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and known as <br />Thomas Street, bounded on the north by Syer Road, <br />on the south by property now or formerly of the <br />City of Portsmouth, on the east by the western <br />line of Lot 30 as shown on that plat filed in the <br />suit of Baugh and Sons Company vs. Annie E. Taylor, <br />Executrix of J. C. Taylor, deceased, et als, once <br />pending in the Court of the Hustings, now the <br />Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, described <br />as "Plat No. 1 of J. C. Taylor's land near Cottage <br />Place, in Norfolk County", and on the west by <br />the eastern line of Lot 31 as shown on the <br />aforesaid plat. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held February 27, 1990. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
