.: ~ 28 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE CONSERVATION PLAN FOR THE TRUXTUN CONSERVATION PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, by resolution adopted June 9, 1981 approved a Conservation Plan for the Truxtun Conservation Project, Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan); and WHEREAS, there has been presented to the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, for consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Conservation Plan for the project area which Plan consists of five pages and two exhibits (Amendment No. 2); and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 2 proposes to make technical changes, proposes to authorize the acquisition and disposition of real property in the project, and require compliance with covenants in deeds conveying this land to run with the land for a period of twenty-five years; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this Amendment is in the best interest of the City's renewal effort; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provisions ef the Housingt:and Community. Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, religion, sex, familial status, handicap, or national origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, it is in the interest of the City and its inhabitants that said Amendment No. 2 is approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That regarding Amendment No; 2, it is hereby found: (a) That the objectives of the Truxtun Conservation Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by adoption of said Amendment No. 2;
