60 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY TO THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE WEAVER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, VA. R-40, IMMEDIATELY SOUTH OF MT. CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns the hereinafter described real property located in the Weaver Redevelopment Project, Va. R-40, immediately south of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, which property is no longer required for public purposes and is, hereby, declared to be excess property; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth deems it to be in the best interest of the City for said property to be developed and put to its best and highest use. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to convey the hereinafter described property to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, to-wit: Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being more particularly described as follows: Ail of Lot 9 as shown on that certain plat entitled "Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority Urban Renewal Weaver Redevelopment Pro3ect Boundary and Property Line Map, City of Portsmouth, Virginia," dated January 17, 1967, prepared ky R. Kenneth Weeks,. Engineers, said.map being r~rded in the Clerk's Office of th~ Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia; Ail of that portion of Bart Street closed by Ordinance No. 1968-32, adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia on May 14, 1968. That portion of Lot 8 as shown on the above-referenced plat of the Weaver Redevelopment Project; it being the intention of the City Council to convey parcel of land totaling one acre in area to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
