56 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY AN <br />EASEMENT TO VIRGINIA POWER COMPANY FOR THE INSTALLATION OF <br />POLES AND WIRES IN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF HARPER ROAD ADJACENT TO <br />PROPERTY OF THE VIRGINIA PORT AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Virginia Power Company has requested an easement <br />on the hereinafter-described City property for the purpose of <br />installing an overhead power line; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the necessity for such installation was prompted <br />by the construction of Harper Road in the area of the Virginia <br />Port Authority and Sealand Corporation, which rendered poles <br />and lines already in place an impediment to their operations. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to convey an easement to Virginia Power <br />Company for an overhead power line on the following described <br />property, to-wit: <br /> <br />Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situated <br />in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, as set forth <br />and shown on a 30-foot easement on that plat <br />entitled "Plat to Accompany Right-of-Way Agreement, <br />Overhead, City of Portsmouth, Virginia, Plat No. <br />24-90-0040," dated April 26, 1991, said plat being <br />attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to sign such easement agreements and <br />other documents as may be necessary to carry out the intent of <br />this resolution, and as he may deem to be in the best interest <br />of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held October 15, 1991. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
