1992--33 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 16 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 16-64 AND <br />16-65 (a) AND (b) THEREOF, PERTAINING TO REFUSE COLLECTION <br />FEES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 16-64 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 16-64. <br /> <br />Rates for dwelling units and certain other <br />establishments. <br /> <br /> The service charge for the collection and disposal of <br />trash and garbage from any dwelling unit and any other <br />establishment not subject to the charges imposed by Section <br />16-65 shall be at the rate of ten dollars ($10.00) per month <br />per dwelling unit or, in the case of such other <br />establishments, at the rate of ten dollars ($10.00) per month <br />for each such other establishment. The charges imposed under <br />this section shall be billed with the statement rendered for <br />water and sewer charges. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 16-65 (a) and (b) of the Code of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 16-65. Rates for standard containers. <br /> <br /> (a) Where garbage and refuse are stored in thirty-two <br />(32) gallon containers or the equivalent thereof, the charge <br />for each three month period shall be based upon the volume of <br />refuse normally generated for the particular class of <br />business, and the rate shall be as follows: <br /> <br />Collections <br />per week <br /> <br />Standard containers <br /> per collection <br /> <br />Minimum charge <br />per quarter <br /> <br />2 0 to 4 $ 30.00 <br />2 5 to 8 60.00 <br />2 9 to. 12 90.00 <br /> <br />3 0 to 4 50.00 <br />3 5 to 8 100.00 <br />3 9 to 12 150.00 <br /> <br /> <br />
