1992-26 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF RAVEN STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, A1 Dumire and Charles Satterfied, Jr. have made <br />application to vacate and close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter described portion of Raven Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted March <br />27, 1984, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing a portion of Raven Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the <br />closing and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br />that <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the portion of said street <br />hereinafter described be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at the northeastern right-cf-way <br />intersection of Greenwood Drive and Raven Street; <br />thence along the eastern right-of-way of Raven <br />Street in a southerly direction a distance of 217' <br />to a point on the northern right-of-way of Barclay <br />Avenue; thence along the ncrthern right-of-way of <br />Barclay Avenue in a westerly direction a distance of <br />20' to a point on the western right-of-way of Raven <br />Street; thence along the western right-of-way of <br />Raven Street in a northerly direction a distance of <br />217' to a point, on the southern right-of-way of. <br />Greenwood Drive; thence along the southern <br />right-of-way of Greenwood Drive in an easterly <br />direction a distance of 20' to the Point of <br />Beginning. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby <br />reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege <br />to install, operate, maintain and replace sewer mains, sewer <br />drains, and sanitary sewers, under and across the hereinabove <br />described portion of Raven Street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held May 12, 1992. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
