1992-91 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF GLASGOW STREET. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Glasgow Street. WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted August 25, 1992, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing said portion of Glasgow Street. WI~EREAS, the said vlewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of Glasgow Street be closed and vacated as a public street. GLASGOW STREET Glasgow Street bounded on the east by Halifax Avenue and on the west by West Road (now closed), said portion of Glasgow Street being adjacent to and near Maryview Hospital and being more particularly shown on that certain exhibit entitled "Exhibit Plat Showing Portion of 'Glasgow Street' to be vacated between formerly: West Road and Halifax Avenue," made by Hassell & Folkes, P.Co, Engineers, Surveyors, Planners, dated 8/14/89, a copy of which plat is attached hereto and made a part hereof. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, rights and privileges to install, operate, maintain and replace gas mains, sewer mains, sewer drains, sanitary sewers, water mains, storm drains, electric power lines, over, under and across the hereinabove described portion of Glasgow Street.
