1992-4 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING GRACE STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the- <br />hereinafter described Grace Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted October <br />15, 1991, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said street and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said Grace Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the <br />closing and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described <br />Grace Street be closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br />GRACE STREET <br /> <br />Beginning at the Northeast ccrner of the <br />intersection of Effingham and Grace Streets; thence <br />East along the North right-of-way of Grace Street a <br />distance of 300.87', more or less, to the West <br />right-of-way of Green Street a distance of 30' to <br />the South right-of-way of Grace Street; thence West <br />along the south right-of-way of Grace Street a <br />distance of 311.68', more or less, to the East <br />right-of-way of Effingham Street; thence North along <br />the East right-of-way of Effingham Street a distance <br />of 31.86' to the North right-of-way of Grace Street, <br />to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held January 14, 1992. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
