7. By amending Section 7.01 pertaining to the Department of Law to read as follows: Section 7.01. Department of Law There shall be a Department of Law which shall consist of the City Attorney and such Deputy or Deputies and Assistant City Attorneys and other employees as may be authorized. 8. By amending Section 11.02(i) pertaining to the functions and dutieS of the Civil Service Commission to read as follows: Section 11.02. Functions and duties. (i) ~nen a vacant position is to be filled, the commission shall certify to the appointing authority, on written request, the names of at least five (5) persons highest on the eligible list for the class; (and if there is no such list, to establish a provisional or temporary appointment list of such class). No temporary or provisional appointment sha~l continue for a period longer than four (4) months; nor shall any person receive more than one provisional appointment or serve more than four (4) months as a provisional appointee in any fiscal year. 9. By amending Section ll.10(a) pertaining to vacancies in the classified service to read as follows: Section 11.10. Appointments to vacant positions. (a) V~enever a position in the classified service becomes vacant, the appointing power, if it desires to fill the vacancy, shall make requisition upon the commission for the names and addresses of persons eligible for appointment thereto. The commission shall certify at least five (5) names highest on the eligible list for the class to which the vacant position has been allocated who are willing to accept employment. The appointing power shall forthwith appoint such a person to such vacant position. 10. By repealing Section 3.10 pertaining to compensation of the Mayor and Council. 11. By repealing Section 4,03 pertaining to the office of Deputy City Clerk.
