7. By amending Section 7.01 pertaining to the <br />Department of Law to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 7.01. <br /> <br />Department of Law <br /> <br /> There shall be a Department of Law which shall consist of <br />the City Attorney and such Deputy or Deputies and Assistant <br />City Attorneys and other employees as may be authorized. <br /> <br /> 8. By amending Section 11.02(i) pertaining to the <br />functions and dutieS of the Civil Service Commission to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 11.02. Functions and duties. <br /> <br /> (i) ~nen a vacant position is to be filled, the <br />commission shall certify to the appointing authority, on <br />written request, the names of at least five (5) persons <br />highest on the eligible list for the class; (and if there is <br />no such list, to establish a provisional or temporary <br />appointment list of such class). No temporary or provisional <br />appointment sha~l continue for a period longer than four (4) <br />months; nor shall any person receive more than one provisional <br />appointment or serve more than four (4) months as a <br />provisional appointee in any fiscal year. <br /> <br /> 9. By amending Section ll.10(a) pertaining to vacancies <br />in the classified service to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 11.10. Appointments to vacant positions. <br /> <br /> (a) V~enever a position in the classified service <br />becomes vacant, the appointing power, if it desires to fill <br />the vacancy, shall make requisition upon the commission for <br />the names and addresses of persons eligible for appointment <br />thereto. The commission shall certify at least five (5) names <br />highest on the eligible list for the class to which the vacant <br />position has been allocated who are willing to accept <br />employment. The appointing power shall forthwith appoint such <br />a person to such vacant position. <br /> <br /> 10. By repealing Section 3.10 pertaining to compensation <br />of the Mayor and Council. <br /> <br /> 11. By repealing Section 4,03 pertaining to the office <br />of Deputy City Clerk. <br /> <br /> <br />
