103 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR VIRGINIA POWER. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth, Virginia has long <br />recognized the importance of an established Economic <br />Development Program in order to encourage the expansion and <br />location of compatible business and industry within the City; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City through its City of the Future <br />Initiative has recommitted and reaffirmed its commitment <br />establishing specific economic development goals and <br />objectives for the City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City and its business community, striving <br />together to enhance the quality of life for its citizens and <br />clientele, respectively, and in an effort to increase business <br />potential in this City, entered into a joint venture with <br />Virginia Power to produce an economic development video <br />entitled, "PORTSMOUTH ON THE MOVE"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, without <br />expertise of Virginia <br />production would have <br /> <br />the full support, cooperation and <br />Power, the creation of this excellent <br />been virtually impossible; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City will utilize this video presentation <br />its economic development promotional efforts to increase and <br />encourage quality business development; and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia hereby extends its sincere <br />appreciation and gratitude to Virginia Power for its <br />leadership role in the production of the economic development <br />video, "PORTSMOUTH ON THE MOVE." <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this Council and that a copy be <br />presented to Virginia Power in recognition of our appreciation <br />and its generosity. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia at a meeting held November 24, 1~92. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
