87 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPCINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF <br />GLASGOW STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pcrtsmouth has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described <br />portion of Glasgow Street, and it appearing that Notice of <br />Application and Request for Appointment of Viewers has been <br />advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br /> of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Vincent Cherry, Albert Carr, <br /> George N. Powers, Sr., Richard Todd and Richard Wood be <br /> appointed viewers, and that Martha Glover and Cornelius <br /> Harding, Jr. be appointed alternate viewers in the event one <br /> of the preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to <br /> view the hereinafter-described portion of such street and to <br /> report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion <br /> any, and if any what, inconvenience would result in vacating <br /> and closinq the following: <br /> <br /> Glasgow Street bounded on the east by Halifax Avenue <br /> and on the west by West Road (now closed), said <br /> portion of Glasgow Street being adjacent to and near <br /> Maryview Hospital and being more particularly shown <br /> on that certain exhibit entitled "Exhibit Plat <br /> Showing Portion of 'Glasgow Street' to be vacated <br /> between formerly: West Road and Halifax Avenue," <br /> made by Hassell & Folkes, P.C., Engineers, <br /> Surveyors, Planners, dated 8/14/89, a copy of which <br /> exhibit is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held August 25, 1992. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
