Smith has been called to serve as the
speaker for five crusade meetings. Dr. Smith has been hailed by
U. S. News Today & World Report as a "Leader;" by Christianity
Today as an "Inerrancy Superstar;" Newsweek calls him "a capable
and growing leader;" Time "a formidable figure, a firey red-haired
old style prairie stemwinder;" and in Los Angeles, "his oratorical
skills have him one of Baptists more popular preachers;" and

WHEREAS, this evangelistic crusade involves any and all
denominations in our area and will include all races; with the
major thrust being to unite the people of Portsmouth for things
that are good and wholesome and to bring in people who can
effectively address issues such as drug abuse; and

WHEREAS, plans are pending for a Portsmouth Rally to be held
on September 12 at Frank D. Further, our hope and earnest
prayer is that the citizens of this community will respond and
participate in the activities planned.
