13 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR STATE SENATOR FREDERICK M. <br />QUAYLE, A MEMBER OF THE PORTSMOUTH DELEGATION TO THE VIRGINIA <br />GENERAL ASSEMBLY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth, Virginia recognizes the <br />importance of the legislative actions of the Virginia General <br />Assembly and their impact on the operation of local government; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council presented legislative proposals <br />for the 1993 General Assembly session that would assist in the <br />efficient operation of government; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Senator Frederick ~{. Quayle introduced a budget <br />amendment that would provide S50,000 in state fundinc for the <br />Children's Museum of Virginia and supported bills offered by <br />members of the Portsmouth Delegation to the Virginia General <br />Assembly that benefited Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City recognizes the untiring efforts and <br />dedication of Senator Frederick M. Quayle to ensure that its <br />interests are protected through careful review and input on <br />bills, resolutions and budget amendments introduced by members <br />of the General Assembly that affect local government; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Senator Frederick M. Quayle embraced input from <br />the City and provided the support needed to enhance the quality <br />of life for the citizens of this community. <br /> <br /> NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia hereby extends its sincere appreciation <br />and gratitude to Senator Frederick M. Quayle for his leadership <br />during the 1993 session of the Virginia General Assembly and <br />commitment to the citizens of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this Council and that s copy be <br />presented to Senator Frederick M. Quayle in recognition of our <br />appreciation for a job well done. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />at a meeting held March 9, 1993. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
