41 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF A PORTION OF <br />ZNDUSTRIAL AVENUE AND A PORTION OF DETROIT STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Port Authority and the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation have made application to vacate, <br />close and discontinue the hereinafter described portions of <br />Industrial Avenue and Detroit Street, and it appearing that <br />notice of application and request for appointment of viewers <br />has been advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Roy Lelnart, Charles R. Hudgins, <br />Robert Reed, Harrison Miller and Moses Gibson be appointed <br />viewers, and that John H. Mason, Jr. and Cornelius Harding, <br />Jr. be appointed alternate viewers in the event one of the <br />preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view <br />the hereinafter-described streets and to report to this <br />Council in writing whether in their opinion, any, and if any <br />what, inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the <br />following: <br /> <br />DETROIT STREET <br /> <br />Ail that portion o~ Detroit St£eet beginning at the <br />eastern intersection of Detroit Street and Lee <br />Avenue and running in ~n easterly direction to the <br />western intersection of Detroit Street and <br />Industrial Avenue, consistin] of .23 acres, more or <br />less, such portion of Detroit Street having a width <br />of 50 feet, and the distance for closure on Detroit <br />Street being 200 feet long. <br /> <br />INDUSTRIAL AVENUE <br /> <br />All that portion of Industrial Avenue, beginning at <br />the southern intersection of Industrial Avenue and <br />Wesley Street and running in a southerly direction <br />to the northern line of the property on which the <br />Portsmouth Fire Station is located, which line is <br />the dividing line between the property owned by the <br />City of Portsmouth and the property owned by <br />Virginia Port Authority on the western side of <br />Industrial Avenue~ consisting of 1.414 acres, more <br />or less, Industrial Avenue having an approximate <br />width of 50 feet, ~nd the distance for closure on <br />Industrial Avenue being 1035 feet long. <br /> <br /> <br />
