7 <br /> <br />A R~SOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF PETE LEWIS, <br />CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />SAID PROPERTY. <br /> <br />JR., TO PURCHASE <br />~NAGER TO CONVEY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City owns certain hereinafter described real <br />property which is no longer required for public purposes and <br />is, hereby, declared to be excess property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said property has been advertised for sale <br />pursuant to the requirements of Section 2.09 of the Charter of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the highest bid was that of Pete Lewis, Jr.~ in <br />the amount of $2,000.00 for the purpose of increasing the size <br />of his lot; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said bid is in compliance with the terms of the <br />advertisement of sale; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth deems <br />to be in the best interest of the City to dispose of said <br />property as hereinafter described. <br /> <br />it <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the kid of Pete Lewis, Jr., to <br />purchase the hereinafter described property for the sum of <br />$2,000.00 for the purpose of increasing the size of his lot <br />and the same hereby is, accepted. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to convey to Pete Lewis, Jr., upon <br />receipt of payment of the purchase price, the following <br />described property, to-wit: <br /> <br />612 Phillips Avenue <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, <br />situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, and known, numbered and designated as Lot <br />number Five (5) in Block Four (4), on the plat of <br />the Airline Land Company, duly recorded in the <br />Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of <br />Chesapeake, (formerly Norfolk County) Virginia, in <br />Map Book 4, at page 92. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to sign such deeds or other documents as <br />may be necessary to complete this transaction. <br /> <br /> <br />
