7 A R~SOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF PETE LEWIS, CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY SAID PROPERTY. JR., TO PURCHASE ~NAGER TO CONVEY WHEREAS, the City owns certain hereinafter described real property which is no longer required for public purposes and is, hereby, declared to be excess property; and WHEREAS, said property has been advertised for sale pursuant to the requirements of Section 2.09 of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia; and WHEREAS, the highest bid was that of Pete Lewis, Jr.~ in the amount of $2,000.00 for the purpose of increasing the size of his lot; and WHEREAS, said bid is in compliance with the terms of the advertisement of sale; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth deems to be in the best interest of the City to dispose of said property as hereinafter described. it NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the kid of Pete Lewis, Jr., to purchase the hereinafter described property for the sum of $2,000.00 for the purpose of increasing the size of his lot and the same hereby is, accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey to Pete Lewis, Jr., upon receipt of payment of the purchase price, the following described property, to-wit: 612 Phillips Avenue Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and known, numbered and designated as Lot number Five (5) in Block Four (4), on the plat of the Airline Land Company, duly recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, (formerly Norfolk County) Virginia, in Map Book 4, at page 92. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to sign such deeds or other documents as may be necessary to complete this transaction.
