(f) <br /> <br />Absences by Exempt Employees Who Have No Accumulated Leave <br />To the extent required by the Fair Labor Standards Act and <br />the regulations promulgated pursuant to that Act, and <br />further to the extent authorized by state law, employees who <br />are exempt from the overtime provisions of that Act may be <br />subject to deductions from their compensation for periods of <br />absence from work df less than one day, if such employees <br />have no accumulated leave applicable to such absence or <br />choose to use leave without pay, or permission for leave has <br />not been souqht or has been sought and denied. Additionally, <br />deductions from the pay of employees for absences due to a <br />budget-required furlough shall not disqualify the employue <br />from being paid "on a salary basis" except in the workweek <br />in which the furlough occurs and for which the employee'u <br />pay is accordingly reduced. The Director of Employee <br />Resources and Development shall develop and enforce such <br />specific policies regarding the taking of such absences by <br />employees as may be necessary. <br /> <br />(g) Application <br /> <br />The Director of Employee Resources and Development is <br />responsible for application of the Compensation and Salary <br />Adjustment section as it relates to the three parts of this <br />Pay Plan: <br /> <br />1. REGULATIONS FOR ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />2. CLASSES OF POSITIONS ASSIGNED TO PAY GRADES <br /> <br />3. PAY SCHEDULE <br /> <br />This responsibility includes clarification and resolution of <br />any problem or question aot specifically covered by the <br />Classification and Pay Plan. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. Allowances <br /> <br /> The rate of pay set forth in this schedule shall be deemed <br /> to include the full compensation of the employee; however, <br /> the value of any allowances made to the employee by the City <br /> shall also be considered a part of total compensation. <br /> <br /> (a) An employee who previously has been authorized to receive an <br /> allowance of S500.00 per year prior to the termination of <br /> the former educational allowance program, shall continue to <br /> cecelve this allowance. <br /> <br /> (b) The City Manager is authorized to approve automobile and <br /> general expense allowances for specified employees provided <br /> such allowances are established in writing by the City <br /> Manager. <br /> <br /> (c) Radio communications emgloyees who are required to be <br /> available for 24 houu e~ergency repairs to the City's Radio <br /> Communications s~stem shall receive an allowance oE $90.00 <br /> per month. <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
