AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 38-82 AND 38-83, THEREOF, <br />PERTAINING TO METER CHARGES AND RATES FOR WATER SUPPLIED. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> t. That Section 38-82 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended and reordained to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-82. Meter charges. <br /> <br /> The following meter charges~ based on meter size, shall <br />be paid by water consumers for each premises the occupants of <br />which take water from the service pipe: <br /> <br />Meter Size <br /> <br />Payment per Month <br /> <br />3/4" <br /> <br />1-1/2" <br /> <br />4" <br /> <br />S <br /> <br />3 25 <br />4 25 <br />7 50 <br />15 00 <br />25 00 <br />40 00 <br />75 00 <br />162 50 <br />250 00 <br />375.00 <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 38-83 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended and reordained no read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-83. Meter rates for water supplied. <br /> <br /> (a) For all water which passes through meters, consumers <br />within the corporate limits of the City shall pay one dollar <br />and eighty-five cents ($1.85) per one thousand (1,000) gallons <br />or one dollar and thirty-eight and forty hundredths cents <br />($1.3840), per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> (b) For all water which passes through meters, the <br />customers of the City of Chesapeake who are served by <br />Portsmouth and whose rates are not set by contract shall pay <br />two dollars and seventy-seven and five hundredths cents <br />($2.775) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or two dollars and <br />seven and sixty hundredths cents ($2.0760) per one hundred <br />(100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> <br />
