AN ORDINANCE CLOSING PORTIONS OF GREEN STREET AND COLUMBIA STREET. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to vacate and close and discontinue the hereinafter described portions of Green Street and Columbia Street; and WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted November 10, 1992, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portions of said streets and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing portions of Green Street and Columbia Street; and ~EREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said streets. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the portions of said streets hereinafter described be closed and vacated as public streets. Beginning at the intersection of the west right-of-way line of Green Street with the south right-of-way line of County Street; thence east along the south right-of-way line of County Street a distance of 60.24' to its intersection with the east right-of-way line of Green Street; thence south along the east right-of-way line of Green Street a distance of 227.49' to its intersection with the north right-of-way line of Columbia Street; thence east along the north right-of-way line of Columbia Street a distance of 181.22' to a point; thence south a distance of 31.04' to the south right-of-way line of Columbia Street; thence west along the south right-of-way line of Columbia Street a distance of 181.22' to its intersection with the east right-of-way line of Green Street; thence south along the east right-of-way line of Green Street a distance of 114.85' to a point; thence west a distance of 60.18' to the west right-of-way line of Green Street; thence north along the west right-of-way line of Green Street a distance of 114.37' to its intersection with the south right-of-way line of Columbia Street; thence west along the south right-of-way line of Columbia Street a distance of 360.96' to its intersection with the east right-of-way line of Effingham Street; thence north along the east right-of-way line of Effingham Street a distance of 33.54' to its intersection with the north right-of-way line of Columbia Street;
