AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF COAST GUARD BOULEVARD. WHEREAS, Eastern Nedica! Transport~ Inc., has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Coast Guard Boulevard; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adooted January 26, 1993, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and tc reporn in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing said Dottier of Coast Guard Boulevard; and ~7HEREAS, the said viewers have reported in in their opinion no inconvenience would result closing and discontinuing of said street. writing that from the NOW, THE~EFORE, gE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of Coast Guard Boulevard be closed and vacateJ as a public street. COAST GUARD BOULEVARD That portion of the former Coast Guard Boulevard4 beginning at a l~oint on the northern boundary of Old ~Test Norfolk Road where the boundary of property conveyed ~o Eastern ~[edica! Transport, Inc., by deed recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmcuth, Virginia, in Dee] Book 1072, Page 104, intersects the said northern boundary of Old P~st Norfolk Road~ thence continuing in a northerly_ directlon along the eastern boundary of said Eastern ~ ~' ] . .e~lCa_ Transport, Inc., property a distance of 62.21 feet, more or less, to a point on the northern boundary of said Eastern Medical Transport, Inc., property; thence east 60 feet, more or less, to the eastern boundary of the former Coast Guard ~oulevard; thence south along the eastern ~oundary of the former Coast Guard boulevard 60 feet, more or less, to the northern boundary of 0!d ~est Norfolk Road~ thence west along the northern boundary 6f Old I~est Norfolk Road to the point of beginning. BE IT FURT%~ER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege to install, operate, maintain and replace water mains, sewer mains, and elechric power lines over, under and across the hereinabove described portion of Coast Guard Boulevard.
