AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF COAST GUARD BOULEVARD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Eastern Nedica! Transport~ Inc., has made <br />application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter <br />described portion of Coast Guard Boulevard; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adooted January <br />26, 1993, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said street and tc reporn in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing said Dottier of Coast Guard <br />Boulevard; and <br /> <br /> ~7HEREAS, the said viewers have reported in <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result <br />closing and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br />writing that <br />from the <br /> <br /> NOW, THE~EFORE, gE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described <br />portion of Coast Guard Boulevard be closed and vacateJ as a <br />public street. <br /> <br />COAST GUARD BOULEVARD <br /> <br /> That portion of the former Coast Guard <br />Boulevard4 beginning at a l~oint on the northern <br />boundary of Old ~Test Norfolk Road where the boundary <br />of property conveyed ~o Eastern ~[edica! Transport, <br />Inc., by deed recorded in the Clerk's Office of the <br />Circuit Court of the City of Portsmcuth, Virginia, <br />in Dee] Book 1072, Page 104, intersects the said <br />northern boundary of Old P~st Norfolk Road~ thence <br />continuing in a northerly_ directlon along the <br />eastern boundary of said Eastern ~ ~' ] <br /> . .e~lCa_ Transport, <br />Inc., property a distance of 62.21 feet, more or <br />less, to a point on the northern boundary of said <br />Eastern Medical Transport, Inc., property; thence <br />east 60 feet, more or less, to the eastern boundary <br />of the former Coast Guard ~oulevard; thence south <br />along the eastern ~oundary of the former Coast Guard <br />boulevard 60 feet, more or less, to the northern <br />boundary of 0!d ~est Norfolk Road~ thence west along <br />the northern boundary 6f Old I~est Norfolk Road to <br />the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURT%~ER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby <br />reserves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege <br />to install, operate, maintain and replace water mains, sewer <br />mains, and elechric power lines over, under and across the <br />hereinabove described portion of Coast Guard Boulevard. <br /> <br /> <br />
