1993 37_ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1988, AS AMENDED, BY ADDING THERETO <br />SECTION 20-70.1 PERTAINING TO FREIGHT FORWARDERS. <br /> <br /> BE tT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Chapter 20 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, be amended and reordained <br />adding Section 20-70.1 to read as follows: <br /> <br />by <br /> <br />Section 20-70.1. <br /> <br />Freight forwarders. <br /> <br /> Every person engaged in the business of freight <br />forwarding shall pay a business license tax of Thirty and <br />00/100 Dollars ($30.00), or Two Cents ($0.02) on each One <br />Hundred and 00/100 Dcllars ($100.00) of gross receipts, <br />whichever amount is higher. <br /> <br /> 2.
